A pair of notorious killer whales, meet port and starboard, has once again carried out an attack off the coast of South Africa. This time, they killed 17 sharks in what is considered their most significant killing spree to date. These adult male orcas have gained a notorious reputation for their remarkable shark-hunting abilities, been observed attacking and devouring various shark species, including great whites. The massacre was witnessed by researchers from the Marine Dynamics Academy, who observed the two orcas repeatedly diving in a specific location in the ocean for nearly two hours near Pearly Beach in the Western Cape. Shortly after, eleven seven-gill shark carcasses were discovered washed ashore on the same beach. All the sharks had been torn open, with their livers missing.
