EYA Laure took charge as University of Santo Tomas overcame University of the Philippines, 22-25, 25-20, 25-18, 26-24, on Sunday to remain unbeaten in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
Laure, an incoming rookie, finished with 18 points, including the game-clinching attack.
UST dropped its first set in the conference but recovered to improve to 4-0 and take the solo top spot.
With the score at 24-all, Nicole Magsarile committed a service error that pushed UST at match point and Laure finished off UP with a powerful hit.
The Tigresses were without head coach Kungfu Reyes, who is in Japan as one of the national team assistant coaches.
Team captain Tin Francisco scored 16 points for UST, while Carla Sandoval added 12.
Isa Molde scored 13 points and registered 21 digs, while Magsarile chipped in 12 as the Lady Maroons slid to 1-1.
