Not all "prestige appellations" from Bordeaux burn your wallet. Here a case in point: Chateau Corbin Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé. The 2009 vintage includes some over heavy wines from the Right Bank, but not so here. Streamlined, sumptuous, lip smacking good but firmly Old Word earth, this is a well balanced wine of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, whose 14% alcohol does not knock you over the head. Complex and delicious. Retails between $35-40. What are you waiting for?
