Blood Flow in the Heart
Blood circulates through the heart in the following order:
• Right atrium: Blood enters the heart through the superior and inferior vena cava, two large veins, and enters the right atrium.
• Right ventricle: The blood is pumped from the right atrium to the right ventricle.
•
Lungs: The right ventricle pumps the blood to the lungs through the pulmonary artery, where it picks up oxygen.
Left atrium: The oxygen-rich blood returns to the heart through the pulmonary veins and enters the left atrium.
Left ventricle: The blood is pumped from the left atrium to the left ventricle.
Aorta: The left ventricle pumps the blood to the aorta, a large artery that distributes the blood to the rest of the body.#human #humanbody #critical health care @CriticalHealthCare08
