I received another $81 cash premium today and the position is back in profitable territory again. Since May, 2024, I've generated $2436 in options premium and used the funds to offset the cost of buying additional shares of this ETF. The entire position is up $1094.

Sometimes, when a put is really far out of the money, no one will accept my offer to buy to close it. So today, I sold a new cash secured put on QQQ, leaving my current position to expire worthless at the end of the day. The covered call expires in 3 weeks, so there's no need to manage it today. Time is working for me.

The risk of leaving my put to expire without closing it is clearly defined - a huge weird dip during the day, could cause me to be assigned to buy the shares at a very low price. This is a is highly unlikely event that would actually improve my position! So I was comfortable leaving that position open and just selling a new one.
