Are computer games really a waste of time? What does that mean and what could we be doing instead?

Unfortunately, computer games can be a waste of time, like many activities in life - even those which people think are meaningful. How then do we side what parts of our lives have meaning and which don't?

Ultimately, the question becomes an existentialist one. Existential philosophy is concerned with the significance of our own freedom and choices given how hard it is to find clear sources of value and meaning in the modern world.

I also bring up the work of philosopher Bernard Suits, who argued that games may be the ultimate activity when it comes to finding meaning and value in our lives.
