In today’s video, I’ll show you how to fix the issue where Windows Updates KB5048667 or KB5048685 are not installing or downloading on Windows 11 (24H2/23H2). Follow these easy steps to resolve the problem and get your updates installed successfully.
Step 1: Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter
Open Windows Settings by pressing Windows + I.
Navigate to System then Troubleshoot then Other Troubleshooters.
Find Windows Update in the list and click Run.
Allow the troubleshooter to detect and fix issues.
Restart your computer after the troubleshooting is complete.
Retry the update installation.
If this doesn’t solve the problem, proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Reset the Windows Update Cache
Sometimes, a corrupted update cache can cause issues. Here’s how to reset it:
Stop Update Services:
Open the Command Prompt as Administrator:
Type cmd in the Windows search bar, right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.
In the Command Prompt, type the following commands one at a time and press Enter after each:

Delete Cache Files:

net start bits
net start msiserver
Restart your computer and check for updates again.
Step 3: Use the Windows Update Assistant
Use the link in the video description to visit the Windows Update Assistant page on Microsoft’s website.
Download and run the Windows Update Assistant tool.
Follow the on-screen instructions to update your system.
Restart your computer after the update process is complete.
Step 4: Perform a System File Check
Corrupt system files can interfere with updates. Here’s how to fix them:
Open the Command Prompt as Administrator.
Run the following commands one at a time:

Allow the scans to complete and repair any issues.
