Check out my latest whisky review and giveaway. I shot these 3 series of videos last year in a 6 foot snow bank in my yard so I thought it was high time they saw the light of day.
They were my 1st ever videos I did when I was calling my channel "Wear It Like Bond" due to the fact I thought I would create a James Bond Lifestyle Channel. I mean it still is kind of like that, like the Ultimate Guys Channel, but thought I would just use my own name so people know who I am and it is attached to my Website and social media pages.
I will be dramming out 2 oz of this to share with my subscribers. Once I fill up the box of 2 oz samples from our tasting together, I will draw a name from one of my subscribers and send out an entire box of lots of 2 oz samples.
So today...I mean last year we are trying the Wayne Gretzky Maple Cask Canadian Whisky.
Whisky Rundown & Tasting Notes:
Distillery location: Niagara Falls, Canada
Wayne Gretzky distillery opened on April 9th, 2017
40% ABV
Varietal: 100% Ontario grains (Malted Rye, Rye, and Corn)
Won Silver Medal-Canadian Whisky Awards, Victoria, BC 2022
Whisky made the Canadian way - locally sourced grains are individually distilled, matured and blended, then finished in Maple Syrup barrels.
A tawny coloured whisky. At first swirl of the glass look for top notes of caramelized maple syrup, baked nut loaf and cereal grains, then additional notes of baked apple, dark raisin and sweet oak emerge. The mouth-feel is smooth, round and rich, with a touch of sweetness, along with deep notes of spice, oak and toffee. The finish is long and lingering with a smooth texture, a hint of sweetness and flavours of candied nut, spice and caramelized maple syrup.
Enjoy this spirit neat, or on one large rock [ice-cube], with minimal addition of water.
The delicate sweetness in the whisky makes for an interesting variation on the classic cocktails.
