In this video, we will design and assemble 'Geneva Drive' in SolidWorks. We will design a '5-Position Spokes' and do a motion study (motion analysis) of the Geneva Drive and how the Geneva Mechanism works. We will be using 'Concentric mates' and 'Coincident Mates' for the motion analysis of the drive along with the Rotary Motor applied.

The Geneva drive or Maltese cross is a gear mechanism that translates a continuous rotation movement into intermittent rotary motion. The mechanism is frequently used in mechanical watches, since it can be made small and is able to withstand substantial mechanical stress. Other applications of the Geneva drive include the pen change mechanism in plotters, automated sampling devices and many forms of index-able equipment used in manufacturing.
