Sarens is an undisputed expert in #Bridge installations, and nowhere is that more apparent than in Antwerp. Since the 1980’s, where one of our first bridge installations crossing the Albert canal involved a 1.400T, 90m long bridge, we have continued to serve the city with our famous expertise. Since just 2018 we have been trusted to install 30 bridges on the Albert Canal!
Featured here is one of a series of 5 bridges that Sarens was commissioned to install by our client Buyck. Each one was 128m in length and weighed 1.100T, and posed a series of challenges around transport and installation. For any such project, planning is critical. In this case the Sarens team addressed the width of the locks and low-lying bridges that needed to be navigated on the transport route.
To complete the project the bridge was loaded onto a Sarens’ #Barge using SPMTs and then jacked into position using the Sarens newest climbing system, the CS350. This tool, developed 100% in-house, enables loads to be raised up to 6m without need for bracing, and provided Sarens with the perfect solution for these installations.
Sarens’ capability and success in the world of bridges is summed up perfectly by our Project Manager of the recent installations on the Albert Canal, Peter Keyen - “Our expertise in bridge installation has been built up over many years spent listening to and understanding our clients' requirements and challenges.”
