Back in the good ol' days 2-stroke outboards were ideal for smaller tinnies. Since those days are no more, we are left with 4-strokes which are in many, many ways superior to 2-strokes, but can be slightly more heavy. This is an issue for small tinnies and has put a 'soft cap' on the horse power on tinnies under 4m. Quintrex realised this and came up with the 400 Trigger which is rated to a 25hp 4-Stroke.
