The West Somerset Railway held their Mixed Traction Weekend over the 15th to 17th June 2012. The event saw a mix of steam and diesel motive power on the trains over the three days. The weather on the Saturday was varied, with rain on and off throughout the day, with the sun trying to break through later in the afternoon. The event saw three visiting diesel locos to compliment the home fleet, including BR Class 55 'Deltic' No 55022 'Royal Scots Grey'. The event was also one of the first opportunities to see newly overhauled BR Class 33 No D6575 in revenue earning service on the line. The full line up was:-
