As you may be aware, many folks are going south of the border 🗽for investment opportunities.
This is to benefit from the stronger US dollar 💵, and also to a more landlord-friendly environment 🏘️.
While we still see HUGE opportunities here in the GTA (especially with Max Suite projects 🛠️), it's definitely wise to consider additional investment options and diversification 🌐 outside of our geography and currency.
One option to consider is Max Suite-like projects in the US. 🏡✨
This is where we are still able to use the strategy we love so much ❤️, and pair that with another jurisdiction altogether for the belt-and-suspenders approach! 🛡️
One such organization that is an evangelist for the small development movement (similar to much of what we discuss), is the Incremental Development Alliance. 🚀
My development partner Charles Wah and I recently visited Atlanta, Georgia 🍑 to attend a workshop and participate in their first-ever development tour. 🚌
The insights we gained and strategies learned were eye-opening! 👀💡
So, I put together a video 🎥 sharing some of the things that we learned as part of this trip.
One such project involved turning 2 existing single-family lots into 10 housing units! 🏠➡️🏘️
The cool part about it was that they were able to create a little pocket neighborhood without having to jump through crazy hoops. 🤯
Some of these innovative housing options can also be done here in the GTA as well with all the new multiplex and garden suite ADU policies. 🌳🏠
We just need to apply a bit of creativity! 🎨✨
Our mandate on this trip was to:
