The Swanage Railway (otherwise known as the Purbeck Line) is a heritage railway which runs from Swanage to Norden Park & Ride (and Wareham on special occasions).

On this particular day, A3 60103 'Flying Scotsman' operated non-stop services from Swanage to Norden and return. The event drew lots of crowds of all ages who enjoyed the sight of the A3 running up and down the line. In between 60103's services, the Swanage Railway also provided feeder trains formed of T9 30120 and BR 4MT 80104 (currently in the guise of 80126).
