Ingredients:
Shallot – Sliced 1 cup (250 ml).
Coconut oil – 4 tbsp.
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp.
Fenugreek seeds – 1/4 tsp.
Green chilli – 2 no.
Asafetida (Kayam) powder – 2 pinch.
Tamarind – One small piece.
Kashmiri chilli powder – 2 tsp.
Coriander powder – 1 tsp.
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp.
Salt to taste.
Curry leaves – As required.
Hot water – 1-1/2 cup.
Preparation:
Soak the tamarind in some water.
Heat some oil in a sauce pan. Pop the mustard seeds. Add fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, green chilli, asafetida, and sliced shallot. Saute well until the raw smell fades away. Meanwhile you can add salt. When the shallot became translucent, add chilli powder, coriander powder, and turmeric powder. Mix well until the raw smell fades away. Add tamarind water according to your taste. Add hot water, mix well. Cook for some time. Turn off the flame. Our shallot curry is ready.
