Dalbosco Vineyards was founded by the Dalbosco Cazzanelli brothers Giorgio, Roberto, Renato and Franco. The foundation of the vineyard, carries on the pioneering spirit and the legacy of the family, whose father, arrived and settled in Chile in 1952 from the Trento region in northern Italy, a region well known for its prestigious winemaking tradition whose viticultural techniques were passed-on to future Dalbosco generations from their father, under the close supervision of nonna Dessi.
Now 3 generations of the family are working together in the great Limari Valley, northern Chile. This valley has unique climate conditions (Semi desertic climate) with the influence of the Andes Mountains and the Pacific Ocean as it is one of the narrows valleys in Chile. The earth, stones and great temperature, the radation and the thermal amplitude (day 25°C / Night 0° C) that benefits photosintesis and the growth of premium grapes full of tannins and great levels of polyphenols (favorable to fight the free radicals that oxidates the body) making our wines premium. So we get the finest raw material (grapes) to then produce fine red wines with great character, colour and balanced body like our premium Syrah, Carmenere, among others (aged in stain steel and French oak barrels 225lts).
We believe in the 80/20 rule, the quality comes 80% from the vineyard (grapes) and 20% in the winemaking process, and we as a grower can guaranteed the premium quality of 100% own grapes handpicked and selected to make one of the best Estates grown and bottled wines of Chile and the Limari valley.
Moreover, the very scarce rainfall of 60 to 80 mm/year (rain-free summer and almost none in spring and autumn), helps to obtain incredibly healthy grapes at their optimal ripeness point, avoiding fungal diseases. Chile is also free of Phylloxera.
We have consistently proof our premium quality through the years winning golden medals in the most prestigious blind tasting competitions in countries such France, Belgium, United Kingdom and Portugal. We are also recognised as premium quality in the Chilean market, winning great gold medals in contest like the Catador W Hotel award. Furthermore, this 2019 we won 2 gold medals in Paris, France at the Vinalies where we competed against the best wineries in the world from places like France, Chile, Italy, Australia, New Zeland, United States, among others. Actually, I have attached a full one page article of “El Mercurio” in Spanish, the most famous newspaper in Chile, that says how “The Limari Valley is making the finest quality wines” and how “Dalbosco Family won 2 gold medals out of the 9 medals won in France by all the Chilean vineyards in total”. Also, we have 90+ scores given by some of the best master sommeliers in the world such as Andreas Larsson MW and Alistair Cooper MW and James Suckling (ex WineSpectator) and one of the most powerful and influencial wine critic according to Forbes Magazzine.
