Since mid-September, tens of thousands of visitors from 184 countries have accessed the COVID Behaviors Dashboard ([ Ссылка ]). As a data utilization project, the dashboards aim to increase data-based decisions among global public health practitioners. This webinar will highlight the application of these data in practice by providing experiences of public health practitioners (government officials, NGOs, program designers, and journalists) using these data in their work. Understanding the application of data on vaccine hesitancy, testing, attitudes, and knowledge about COVID-19 will shape future data collection and dissemination efforts.
Moderator:
Anton Schneider, Senior Social and Behavior Change Advisor, Office of Infectious Disease, USAID
Speakers:
Helena Ballester Bon, Communication for Development Specialist, Eastern and Southern Africa, UNICEF
Tom Black, Senior Program Officer, Global Delivery Programs, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
Gustavo Berganza, Asociación DOSES (Guatemala)
Cathy Church-Balin, Senior Program Officer II, Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, Breakthrough ACTION (Philippines)
The speakers will walk participants through how the COVID-19 dashboard data has impacted their work, including the processes they used to engage with the data and apply it to their strategic planning around COVID-19 messaging. Participants will learn how to use the data to better understand barriers to vaccination in order to create tailored approaches for their country’s COVID-19 crisis. They will also gain insight into structural and personal barriers to vaccination and a better understanding of the specific reasons why those who have not been vaccinated may still be hesitant.
Presenters will also highlight new features recently added to the dashboard, including:
Visuals displaying subnational-level data for 71 countries
Country snapshots of all 115 countries available as PDFs in 56 languages
Data insights from the most recent reporting period (November 1-15)
The webinar will be presented in English with simultaneous French and Spanish interpretation.
