This piece for solo flute was originally written as incidental music to the uncompleted play Psyché by Gabriel Mourey. Syrinx quickly became a standard in solo flute repertoire. In this interpretation of the piece, Syrinx is performed in its original form as incidental music with text from the play translated from French to English.
