17 year-old Amy Billing disappeared on March 5, 1974 and hasn't been seen in over 50 years. She was last seen walking on a sidewalk in Coconut Grove, Florida (Miami area) near her house during the afternoon hours, while walking toward her parents' local art gallery to borrow $2 form her father for lunch. She never arrived at her parents' gallery, nor did she arrive at the diner where her friends expected her. The police began investigating the next morning and the case remains open to this day.
This case has some wild twists and turns, involving shady members of motorcycle gangs, teenager brothers who tried to collect a ransom for Amy, as well as Amy's mother being the victim of a decades-long phone harassing campaign from, of all people, a Special Agent with US Customs. Amy's mother crisscrossed the country for years in search for Amy to no avail. It seemed that Amy was always just out of reach, if she indeed survived the days after her disappearance.
If you have any information regarding the disappearance of Amy Billig, please call the Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers line at 305-471-8477.
Thank you very much for watching.
