What is the difference between individual judgment and general judgment? In fact, when we look at Scripture, we see that there are in fact two judgments that are announced. One concerns us individually, and this occurs in the passage of death facing the appearance of Christ in all his glory, accompanied by the saints and the angels. In fact, in the face of His appearance when we see our own sin, as the gospel revealed to us. There will be a judgment. It means that in the light of Christ, the person will choose his eternal destiny. Do the souls love Him with all their heart, or do they hate Him with all their heart?
Obviously, there is also a preliminary judgment in the sense of knowledge. The person knows what heaven is, and knows what hell is. But the soul is also free to choose, which will then be ratified by Christ, through a sentence, which takes note of the soul's choice. At the end of the world, a general judgment is announced. In fact it is something quite different. We will see everything on all of them. It is mainly a judgment of discernment, all that has been hidden in our lives. For example, what had been the influence of a grandmother who prayed for us at the time of our birth, or a person who prayed for us from heaven, or all the hidden influences of the demon, nothing will be hidden. Everything will be revealed, even the deep secrets within our hearts, everything in the light of Christ in eternity. We can even say that the general judgment ultimately lasts for the entire eternity, because we will not cease to discover through the billions of human beings who are on earth, and the angels, things that implied our destiny, when we were on earth. Some have said that the general judgment for the saints consisted in the beatific vision, since through it they would see everything, in everything, the intentions of God. Yes, that is part of it. But there is also the discovery of each person, individually, with their secrets, their past life. And as regards those who will have chosen hell, there is also a general judgment for them. They will see everything about everything, and how delusional it is to believe that we can alter God's plan. Well, despite this universal science, they will not change anything, they are in a final, voluntary state of contempt for the paradise that God has prepared, and of exaltation of their own proud freedom. This is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit who never obtains forgiveness, because they never ask for forgiveness.
