Nouns are often taught as people, places, and things. This description helps students identify nouns, but it does not adequately explain the significant role nouns play as the basic building block of the English language. Nouns actually form the comprehension we perceive in both written and oral language. My goal in creating this video is to not only explain what nouns are, but to also illustrate their impact on everyday speaking and writing. Students should see nouns as an immersive, everyday part of their lives and understand the role nouns play in enabling them to become effective communicators.
