The national Delta Chi fraternity chapter will pay more than $4 million in the aftermath of a high-profile wrongful death lawsuit that stems from a hazing incident in 2021.

Then-first-year Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) student, friend and son Adam Oakes joined the Delta Chi fraternity on February 23, 2021. Just four days later, at an off-campus fraternity party, he died during a hazing incident.
