I have had my eye on The Phantomwise Tarot by @erinmorgenstern since it first came out, and treated myself to a copy for my birthday last month.

I adored The Night Circus and was thrilled to hear that the deck was created while Erin Morgenstern was writing the novel. The cards are based on the RWS system, but capture the meanings in their own unique and magical way.

The author writes: "This black-and-white world is a little bit circusy, a little bit Wonderland, and a little bit nocturnal phantasia of its own invention. It is a mix of myth and fairy tale, where each individual you meet may be an illusion, reflection, or distortion." I love the dreamy, otherworldly feel of this deck, it reminds me of many of my dreams as well as the stories I loved reading as a child (and love revisiting as an adult).

The deck is made up of 78 hand-painted cards printed on sturdy card stock with a linen finish. It is accompanied by a beautiful guidebook, complete with card illustrations, accompanying card meanings and a number of spreads unique to this deck. The cards are housed in a beautifully illustrated book style rigid box.
