Special thanks to Flightstar and Mr. Hammer at Willard Airport for allowing this to happen! United Airlines brought the Rutgers University Men's Basketball team to Champaign for their game (eventual loss) against the Illini. United is a normal charter visitor to CMI with 737-800's and -900's, but this time they switched things up and brought the smaller -700 in! To make things even better, it was one of the new livery examples. This was the first visit of the United new livery to CMI and one of the first visits of their 737-700's! Myself and my classmate (dulles_aviation_123) went to catch this bird arrive. We asked the Flightstar staff for permission to film the departure and they accepted! Mr. Hammer, the legendary lead of operations for Flightstar, was super welcoming and showed us some cool photos of charter planes that CMI received years ago.

After dropping Rutgers off, the plane taxied out and had to sit at the end of the runway for almost an hour due to a ground stop in Newark. Eventually they departed but we couldn't stay around that long. I hope you enjoy this super cool airside video and stay tuned for more.
