Our cockatiels are getting ready to nest, Max has laid one egg so far but not started sitting yet. At this point we've added five fake eggs, and put the nesting box into their cage. The larger number of eggs will hopefully discourage Max from laying many more eggs to reduce the strain on her body, though we expect a couple more are on the way anyway. From now on we'll see less of them for a while, as they take turns sitting on the eggs and guarding the nest - they won't be so friendly for a while, and will need their own space!
