It was no mean feat for Dell to go private. Not only was it the largest U.S. company, in terms of revenue, ever to do so, but the deal was among the most contentious of its kind, completed after multiple hostile takeover attempts and intense shareholder unrest.
In this video, Tom Sweet, who was Dell's controller at the time of the deal and was appointed CFO at the end of January 2014, talks about the transaction and how things have changed for Dell now that it's privately held.
