The Archaeological Investigation of India (ASI) has started a thorough scientific investigation of the Gyanvapi grounds that will last through this coming Friday. The goal is to determine whether the mosque from the 17th century was constructed on top of an earlier Hindu temple. At approximately 7 a.m., according to ASI sources, the survey got started. The ASI team conducted the survey inside the compound under tight security, assisted by members of the Hindu petitioners involved in the legal issue over the mosque. "The ASI team is using its most sophisticated equipment to conduct the survey." Sudhir Tripath, a Hindu-side lawyer, speaks to Times Now. Watch In!
