(28 Jun 2021) Russian President Vladimir Putin's spokesman has rejected allegations that Russian military advisers deployed in Central African Republic killed civilians and looted homes.
According to a report prepared by the United Nations investigators for the UN Security council and obtained by the New York Times, Russian mercenaries led government forces into battle during an offensive in January and February.
Violations included "indiscriminate killings, occupation of schools and lotting" said the report, according to the NYT article.
But Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said Russian military advisers didn't take part in killings or lootings.
"This is another lie," he added.
