문 대통령 "코로나19 확진자 감소 추세…낙관은 금물"
President Moon Jae-in has noted the downward trajectory in the daily number of new confirmed cases of COVID-19,... stressing the need to keep this trend going.
Speaking at a meeting with his top aides on Monday,... Moon thanked the people for being at the forefront of the quarantine efforts.
If we maintain the current trend, and the number of new infections declines and stabilizes, South Korea will be recognized as a model for quarantine efforts against COVID-19.
But he cautioned against optimism,... citing the continued sporadic group infections in the southeastern city of Daegu and neighboring areas... as well as the increasing number of cases worldwide.
Moon said the central and local governments will carry out extensive inspections of facilities deemed vulnerable,... such as nursing homes,... and he called on people to refrain from large gatherings.
As for the rationing of face masks starting today,... President Moon asked for the public's cooperation and understanding to ensure that the system runs smoothly,... and he vowed to increase the mask supply swiftly.
Moon also said that officials at the Blue House will be using cotton masks as recommended by health authorities,... urging the rest of the public sector to follow suit.
