How to replace your Dyson upright vacuum's internal hose. Please note, your machine may differ from the example shown but the process remains the same.
The internal hose has been engineered and tested to last the lifetime of your machine in normal domestic use. However if you ever need to replace the internal hose - for example, due to accidental damage - this is quick and easy to do.
Step 1. Carefully lay the machine on its side with the filter of the ball facing upwards.
Step 2. Turn the locking dial anti-clockwise until the ball shell is released.
Step 3. Carefully rotate the machine onto its front.
Step 4. Lift the cuff of the hose out.
Step 5. Use a blunt tool, such as a flat headed screwdriver, to gently press the locking tab.
Step 6. Note: the colour of the cuff and the locking tab may vary on your machine.
Step 7. Remove the hose and dispose of as per local codes and regulations.
Step 8. The assembly will include the new internal hose and instructions.
Step 9. Note: the colour of the new internal hose may vary from the one you removed.
Step 10. Carefully recline the machine by pushing on the stabiliser wheels.
Step 11. With the machine on its side, pull the cleaner head away from the stabiliser wheels to access the channel.
Step 12. Locate the new hose into the channel by aligning the locking tab, then firmly push the hose ensuring the locking tab clicks into place.
Step 13. Push the stabiliser wheels towards the cleaner head until they click securely into place.
Step 14. Place the machine on its front and secure the cuff of the hose back in place.
Step 15. Locate the cover onto the side of the machine. Twist the locking dial clockwise until it click.
Step 16. Ensure the ball shell rotates freely.
