Making MCT Cannabis Oil: Infusing Homegrown Goodness!
In this video, I’ll guide you through my process of making MCT Cannabis Oil using my homegrown cannabis! I’m using a blend of 14g Northern Lights, 10g Biscotti, and 6g Lemon Cherry Gelato (30g total) to create this potent infusion.
Based on using a cannabis infusing calculator, my cannabis oil will have about 93mg of THC per tablespoon. This calculation is based on the THC percentage, which I estimated at around 10% since I grow my own cannabis. To be honest, I’m going to have to just test it and go from there, low and slow. The best part about turning it into water-soluble powder is that when I drink it, it will take about 15 minutes to take effect, compared to edibles, which can take hours before kicking in.
Ingredients:
- 30g dried and cured flower (14g Northern Lights, 10g Biscotti, 6g Lemon Cherry Gelato)
- 2 cups MCT oil
Tools Required:
- Oven
- Grinder
- Large Pan
- Parchment Paper
- Sous Vide
- Large Pot
- Measuring Cup
- Cheese Cloth
- Strainer
Directions:
1. Decarb the Flower: Preheat your oven to 230°F (110°C) and decarb the flower for 30-40 minutes.
2. Prep for Infusion: While the flower is decarbing, fill a large pot with water and set up your sous vide at 185°F (85°C).
3. Bag It Up: Once the cannabis is ready, place it in a ziplock bag along with the MCT oil. Remove the air by leaving a small opening and dunking the bag in water until the air is pushed out, then seal.
4. Sous Vide Time: Submerge the bag back in the sous vide pot with a measuring cup on top to keep it weighed down. Cook for 6 hours.
5. Cool and Strain: Let the bag cool down before straining out the flower, using cheese cloth and a strainer to leave you with pure cannabis oil.
6. Storage: Jar your cannabis oil and store it in a cool, dark place.
