(29 Aug 2019) ACCLAIMED SPANISH DIRECTOR PEDRO ALMODOVAR ARRIVES IN VENICE TO PICK UP LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Pedro Almodovar was celebrated in Venice Thursday (29 AUGUST 2019) as he arrived by boat to pick up a Golden Lion Award for his life's work.
The Oscar-winning Spanish director, whose film credits include 1999′s "All About My Mother" and 2002′s "Talk to Her," looked dapper in a white suit and blue shirt in the Venice sunshine.
69-year-old Almodovar made his Venice debut in 1983 and won an Oscar in 2003 for the screenplay of "Talk to Her."
He has also won four BAFTAs and picked up the best screenplay award at the Venice Film Festival in 1988 for his work on "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown."
