Throughout history there have been a number of American Presidents who have been assassinated, but one that isn't as well talked about is William McKinley the 25th President. McKinley's tenure was a prosperous one where the economy flourished, but he was killed by an anarchist being shot in front of a huge crowd. Leon Czolgosz was a recluse who hated the government, and he made a trip to Buffalo in New York where the President was due to speak. However he was armed with a pistol and the intention to kill the President.
As he shook hands with William McKinley, he slapped his hand to the side and Czolgosz fired two shots into the president before he was jumped on by guards. He was beaten badly, but it looked initially like the President would also survive, but 8 days later he succumbed to an infection caused by his wounds. But Leon Czolgosz was sentenced to death and he was executed by electric chair and was considered a dangerous man who's remains were then dissolved after death.
