Demonstrators have clashed with police and pro-government supporters in Libya's second city, Benghazi.
Numbers are vague but the clashes broke out as protesters marched on government offices.
Libya is sandwiched between Tunisia and Egypt, whose leaders have both recently been ousted by popular uprisings.
Benghazi has a history of antagonism with the Gaddafi government. The city is a rallying point for the banned militant organisation the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group.
