The rescue operation at the Uttarkashi tunnel collapse site in Uttarakhand is currently on hold after the auger drilling machine hit a metal girder last evening. This occurred shortly after drilling resumed, following officials resolving a technical snag. According to a senior official, once the auger drilling machine is brought out of the tunnel pipeline, manual drilling work could be initiated in the last 6–9 meters. He further mentioned that a new drilling process today might yield positive results.
