The best way to understand that your child is receiving enough amount of breast milk, is to check the urine output. So a simple formula I like to give is that when a baby has crossed 5 to 6 days of life, an average of atleast 6 to 7 wet nappies in 24 hours should be present. A minimum of atleast 1 stool per day is an average count anything more than this is considered a very normal, but it should not come lesser than these numbers. Another indication you can commonly hear is when a baby gulps during the fed. They should like deep breath sounds and that is the cumulative feed that the baby drinks in or gulps in as the baby suckles at the breast. These are the two indications a parent can find or are reliable to understand that your child has taken enough amount of milk.
