Since its launch in April 2024, IOM Romania’s grants programme, developed in collaboration with BCR Social Finance and with the generous support of U.S. Department of State: Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, has been helping small businesses owned by 🇺🇦 Ukrainian refugees and 🇷🇴 Romanian citizens employing Ukrainian refugees to thrive and contribute to their local communities.
In September 2024, we conducted a second round of visits across Romania to check in on the progress of these businesses. During these visits, we had the privilege of seeing firsthand how these entrepreneurs have turned their dreams into reality—growing their businesses, creating jobs, and making a lasting impact on their host communities.
Today, we are starting our grants programme miniseries of videos with two incredible stories of perseverance and success from Tulcea and Galați.
From launching their custom digital printing business to landing their first orders, Liliana and Zhorzheta continue to expand their services and grow their client base in Tulcea. Their success is a testament to their entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to developing their business and offering the best quality of services.
Mykola’s consultancy company is also making a lasting impact on the business landscape of Galați. His innovative ideas are helping local businesses optimize their operations and grow, locally and within the EU.
A special thanks to the U.S. Department of State: Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration for supporting our grants programme.
