Android Q is coming towards end of 2019, bringing the usual host of improvements. But for anyone who’s super impatient, here's how to download the developer beta, plus a first look at some of those updated features. All you need is a Google Pixel phone, and all three generations are supported.

Bear in mind that this Android Q beta is intended for developers to test out their apps on the new platform ahead of the official launch - so it’s gonna be a buggy incomplete experience. We recommend steering clear for now, but if you're insistent, here’s how to download and install this early version of Android Q and a run through of some of the best new features - although sadly, no dark mode so far.
We take a look at Google's new privacy features, including updates to location access and the app information page. Foldable phones are supported natively, while screen recording has been added in - as long as you enable the developer settings on your mobile.
Other new features include the ability to share your WiFi with friends and some design customisation, for changing up the accent colours and icon shapes. We show off all of these greatest new bits and more!
You can expect lots more details on the 2019 Android to be revealed at Google IO, which kicks off May 7th in California. The full official launch should rollout in October 2019, to coincide with the launch of the Pixel 4 phone.
