Speaking with reporters on Parliament Hill, Leah Gazan, the NDP critic for women and gender equality, urges the federal government to provide more resources to protect Indigenous women and girls. Her call comes in response to the deaths of four women allegedly murdered by a serial killer in Winnipeg. Also taking part in the news conference are Marc Miller, the minister of Crown-Indigenous relations, Kyra Wilson, the chief of Long Plain First Nation, and the family of Morgan Harris, a First Nations woman from Winnipeg who has been identified as one of the alleged victims.
