Discover in this video the revolutionary network of underground clocks in Paris, conceived by Austrian engineer Victor Popp in 1880. Before the advent of accurate electric clocks, synchronising time was a challenge, brilliantly solved by Popp with a system of pipes that synchronised clocks throughout the city by blowing air. This ingenious solution made it possible to join time in different places, from railway stations to private homes, with the 'Master Clock' at the heart of Paris. Operating without interruption, this system distributed compressed air through an extensive network of pipes, advancing beneath the city and ensuring that every clock was synchronised to the minute. Damage during the 1910 flood did not stop this system, which continued until 1927, when it was overtaken by the precision of electronic clocks.
