The Miles M.52 was a turbo-powered supersonic research aircraft project designed in the UK in the 1940`s. It was a highly ambitious project aiming to produce an aircraft capable of flying at speeds of at least 1000 mph. Much of the research work was undertaken in high levels of secrecy, hence very little footage, which captured the research work, survived. The programme was terminated in 1946 by the government, apparently for budgetary reasons.
