In 1959, Soviet scientist Vladimir Demikhov made headlines around the world for his strange experiment of creating a two-headed dog. He managed to attach the head and upper body of a smaller dog onto the neck of a larger dog, creating a two-headed creature. While both heads were able to eat and drink separately, the canine only survived for four days.
