Acorus calamus, commonly known as Sweet Flag, is an aromatic plant with a penchant for swamps and riverbanks. Its succulent, yellow rhizome hides beneath grass-like leaves, measuring 20 to 60 cm in length. The plant adorns itself with a unique inflorescence—a curved spadix, bearing tiny flowers midway up a stalk.
