Crafted by the widely celebrated interior designers at Flack Studio, the new IN BED modern retail space is situated within the bustling shopping district of Armadale. Originally beginning in 2013 as a purely online venture, IN BED opened their first modern retail space in Sydney in 2015. The Melbourne store has emerged as the organic next step for the homewares brand, who craft everything from sheets to towels, throws to cushions and sleepwear, elevating the home space in every way.
Interior designers at Flack Studio crafted a warm and welcoming store that embodies the IN BED brand through its modern retail space. The IN BED merchandising feels part of the space, with delicately placed items scattered throughout purposeful shelving. As Melbourne based interior designers, Flack Studio understands the heritage context of the city, taking consumers through the modern retail space in a considered and respectful way.
The store is driven by small moments, seeing material selection influenced by its location and history. The original building had been robbed of its heritage features, so the interior designers at Flack Studio took this as an opportunity to bring the modern retail space back to life. The store features mixed terrazzo flooring and textured walls that link the space, seeing a range of colours work in harmony. Leather, brass, and black and steel joinery are also used throughout the modern retail space, with the interior designers ensuring that all the products feel at home. Reflecting IN BED’s dedication to quality materials and making products that last, the interior designers at Flack Studio have ensured that IN BED Armadale is designed with intention as a destination store.
