Outstanding Massachusetts teacher Chris Louis Sardella of Marion E. Zeh Elementary School in Northborough was surprised on October 28, 2008 with a $25,000 Milken Educator Award for her exemplary work in raising student achievement. Milken Educator Awards Senior Vice President Dr. Jane Foley made the surprise announcement at a schoolwide assembly involving dignitaries such as Massachusetts Deputy Commissioner of Education Jeffrey Nellhaus.
