Jess: Hi there, I’m Jess Lacey and I’m a journalist and mother of a baby daughter Wren.
Baby eczema is such a common skin concern in babies and of my antenatal group, half of the poor babies had it so our WhatsApp chat was filled with questions about how to treat baby eczema.
So what causes baby eczema and how can you treat it?
Well, it’s a genetic condition and there is no single medication to cure it, however, it will generally improve as your child gets older. Phew!
Dermatologists and experts recommend treating baby eczema with a good skincare routine that keeps outbreaks in check.
There are lots of products for eczema. The most effective ones have high water content AND contain active moisturisers along with ingredients that help the skin build up its natural barrier.
La Roche Posay Baby Lipikar Baume AP+ has all these as well as an inspired 24-hour anti-itch formula and helps to calm the skin, making it a suitable cream for baby eczema.
The reason i’ve become a little obsessed with it lately is because it’s also ace at treating localised dry patches that seem pop up from nowhere. Plus, it dries in seconds.
I hope that helps!
Thanks for watching!
