A five-judge constitution bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud quashed the electoral bond scheme. Plus, it has amended the Income Tax Act and the Representation of People Act which had made the electoral donations anonymous. The apex court held that electoral bonds due to its anonymous nature violates the right to information.
