- A recently successful candidate of the FRCS Trauma and Orthopedics exam shares advice based on their experience in passing the exam.
- The exam consists of four tables, with each table having two examiners who will ask six questions in total to the candidate.
- Each station is five minutes long, with 6 pictures with X-rays or clinical photos per table.
- The candidate advises sticking to basic principles of anatomy, deforming forces, and fixation techniques, answering confidently and systematically, and avoiding saying "ATLS protocol" for every case.
- Three case scenarios are presented, each with its own set of questions on classification, investigation, management, and other factors affecting the patient's condition.
