This video tells the story of jeans, from their invention in 1848 to their popularity today. Levi Strauss, a German immigrant, started selling canvas trousers to miners in California. Jacob Davis, a tailor, came up with the idea of using rivets to strengthen the trousers. Strauss and Davis partnered to patent the design and start a business manufacturing jeans. Jeans were originally work clothes, but they became fashionable in the 1950s thanks to Hollywood stars and pop stars. Today, jeans come in all kinds of styles and colors and are worn by people of all ages/
