Justa Sajjangarh Resort & Spa is another 5-star luxury resort in Udaipur, the ‘city of lakes’ in Rajasthan. The staff were excellent and the place was packed with local tourists, also as the wedding season in India had began at the time we were there.
This huge roof top area was meant to be much more happening during sunsets but since COVID-19 they had to close the music and bar facilities - not that it bothered me, in fact I enjoyed some quiet time relaxing and reading a book.
This resort is situated near the Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary. Further, what you see at the hilltop is the Monsoon Palace also known as the Sajjangarh Palace / Sajjangarh Fort, built by Maharana Sajjan Singh in 1884. This majestic palace is made with white marbles. It is an excellent sunset point and offers spectacular panoramic views of Udaipur city and its stunning lakes, mountains and palaces.
The historic monuments of Rajasthan itself narratives the story of why the rest of the world were attracted to India. Unfortunately, now you’d see lots of hungry people by the roadside and too many food choices at the restaurants. I started getting the extra untouched food packed at restaurants as it was not at all hard to find someone who would receive it with gratitude. I urge you guys to do the same during your India trip(s). You’ll see people’s face brightening up with joy when they are given food (that could have gone wasted otherwise). Sometimes it’s because they were working hard in heat and the meal was good while sometimes they thank you simply for acknowledging them.
It is hard for people to walk on a spiritual path until their basic necessities such as food are taken care of. As for us who are fortunate to have enough food, offering meal to a hungry person brings much more satisfaction and peace than holidays and fancy hotels. A trip to India therefore is always an enriching experience and an opportunity for tremendous spiritual growth.🙏
